Amalgum Welding Shop logo

Since 2002 · Kempton Park, Gauteng

A welding shop run by welders.

We import welding equipment, build and repair torches, and repair welding and plasma machines from two workshops in Spartan.

How we got here

Started in 2002. Still family-run.

Amalgum Welding Shop opened in 2002 as a small welding supplier out of Spartan, Kempton Park. Two decades later we're still family-run, still on the same road, and still doing the same three things — importing welding equipment direct, building custom torches in our own workshop, and helping welders get the right specification before work starts.

We import our spares and consumables direct, which is where the pricing edge comes from. No middlemen sitting on margin. What you'd pay a distributor, you pay us — and we're the ones who'll answer the phone when you need a torch part on a Thursday afternoon.

What sets us apart

Three things faceless competitors can't match.

In-house torch manufacture

We're one of South Africa's largest custom torch manufacturers. MIG, TIG and Plasma torches built to spec on our own bench — not sent out, not white-labelled. Tell us the machine, cable length, and connector; we'll build the torch.

Accredited Air Products agent

Argon, CO₂, mixed gas, industrial and specialty gas — direct through our Air Products agency. Rental cylinders and fills quoted per size and location.

Direct importer, direct pricing

We import our welding equipment, spares, and consumables ourselves. No middleman markup, no distributor delay. Prices reflect that.

Where the work happens

Two workshops. One in Spartan. Built around practical workshop work.

The torch workshop

This is where our custom MIG, TIG and Plasma torches are built and repaired. Same welders on the same bench for years — they know the machines, the parts, and what actually breaks. If we've built it, we can fix it.
