Why we make our own

Because the imported ones didn't come with a workshop.

Imported machines can become difficult to support when parts, documentation, or service routes are unclear. That uncertainty costs workshop time.

AWS Welders is being developed as a focused house-brand range with product advice and service support handled through Amalgum's Spartan workshop. Assembly, warranty, and spare-parts commitments will be stated per model once confirmed.

The aim is straightforward: publish the specification clearly, match the machine to the work, and explain the support route before purchase.

The range

Built for the work most welders actually do.

We keep the range tight on purpose. Inverter machines for the jobs most South African welders run day-to-day — home workshops, small fabricators, mobile welders, farm sheds. If your work sits outside that, we'll usually point you at an imported brand we stock rather than sell you the wrong AWS Welder.

The support approach

Three commitments the range is being built around.

Clear warranty terms

Each published model will state its applicable warranty, exclusions, and service route before purchase.

Model-specific parts planning

Parts availability and long-term support will be documented per model rather than assumed across the full range.

Serviceable in-house

Service enquiries are assessed through the Kempton Park workshop, with the repair route and expected timing explained before work proceeds.

Common questions

What people ask before buying an AWS Welder.

Is AWS Welders the same as the American Welding Society (AWS)?
No. AWS Welders is Amalgum's own developing brand of welding machines, supported from Kempton Park. The American Welding Society is a US-based certification body — unrelated. On our site, AWS Welders means the Amalgum-branded range.
Where is the AWS Welders range supported?
Product advice and service enquiries are handled through Amalgum's Spartan workshop in Kempton Park. Final production and assembly wording will be published once it is confirmed for each model.
What warranty do they carry?
Warranty terms are being confirmed for each model. Ask for the applicable cover, exclusions, and service process before you buy.
Do you courier AWS Welders nationally?
Delivery options, costs, and repair transport arrangements will be confirmed when you request a quote. The national courier policy is still being finalised.
Can I get a demo before I buy?
Talk to us. Send what you're welding and the power supply available, and we'll help narrow the options — including when another product range is a better fit.
What if my AWS Welder needs a part five years from now?
Long-term parts and service support will be confirmed for each model before purchase. Ask us about the specific machine you are considering.

Not sure which AWS Welder fits your work?
