Stick / MMA welding equipment
Inverters, electrode holders, cables, and electrodes for stick welding — the workhorse of most South African workshops.
Choose the right stick welder
Stick welding, also called MMA or ARC welding, is dependable for maintenance, fabrication and site work. It handles outdoor conditions well and needs no separate shielding-gas cylinder. Choose a machine that can comfortably run the electrode sizes you use most often without exceeding the available power supply.
Match amperage to the job
Light repairs and thinner material need a stable low-amperage arc, while thicker steel and larger electrodes require more output and a stronger duty cycle. Also check input voltage, cable length and whether you need features such as hot start, arc force or anti-stick.
Complete the setup
A working kit needs the power source, electrode holder, earth clamp, suitable welding cable, electrodes and the correct PPE. If the machine will travel between jobs, weight and generator compatibility may matter as much as maximum output.
