2. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect:

We do not knowingly collect special personal information (as defined by POPIA, e.g. health, religious belief, criminal history) through the Site, and do not request it.

Directly from you — when you submit a quote request, place an order, create an account, contact us, or communicate with us via WhatsApp or email. We also collect limited technical information automatically through standard website analytics.

4. Why we process your information (lawful basis)

We process your personal information because it is:

Necessary to fulfil a contract with you — processing quote requests and orders, arranging delivery, providing customer support.
Necessary for our legitimate business interests — improving the Site, preventing fraud, maintaining business records — balanced against your privacy rights.
Required by law — e.g. financial record-keeping for tax purposes.
Based on your consent — e.g. if you opt in to marketing communications. You may withdraw this consent at any time.

To process and fulfil quote requests and orders.
To communicate with you about your order, delivery, or enquiry.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary with:

Delivery/courier partners, to fulfil orders — limited to the information needed for delivery.
Payment processors, once online payment is enabled — Ozow is the intended payment gateway, pending approval; payment details are handled directly by the processor, not stored by us. This section will be updated once it goes live.
Service providers who support our systems (e.g. website hosting, email), under confidentiality obligations.
Regulatory or law enforcement bodies, where required by law.

We do not transfer personal information outside South Africa except where a service provider’s infrastructure requires it, in which case we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with POPIA.

7. Cookies

The Site uses cookies to operate the shopping cart, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect Site functionality (e.g. the cart may not work correctly).

8. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law (e.g. South African financial record-keeping requirements typically require retaining transaction records for five years). Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, unless you request deletion sooner and no legal obligation requires us to retain it.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure, consistent with POPIA’s security safeguard requirements. No online system is completely secure, but we take this seriously and review our safeguards on an ongoing basis.

10. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information.
Request deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal obligation we have to retain it.
Object to processing based on legitimate interest, or to direct marketing at any time.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting processing already carried out.
Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe we have not handled your information in accordance with POPIA.

11. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian as required by POPIA.
