Graphite Teflon MIG Torch Liner – 4m
R195.00 incl. Vat
Low-friction 4m Teflon liner for aluminium MIG wire feed paths.
Description
Aluminium MIG wire is soft and grabs on a steel liner, causing feed stutter and birdnesting at the drive rolls — a graphite-Teflon liner runs low-friction to keep soft wire feeding smoothly all the way to the contact tip.
Key specs
– Graphite-Teflon liner, 4m length
– Colour-coded (red/black/yellow) by wire size range — check the colour against your wire diameter before fitting
– Confirm your torch fitting, liner outside diameter and trim length before ordering, since Teflon liners aren’t interchangeable across torch brands
Why not use a steel liner for aluminium wire?
Steel liners flex and coil under pressure, which shaves soft aluminium wire as it feeds and clogs the liner with fine metal dust. A smooth-bore Teflon liner avoids that shaving action, so the wire arrives at the contact tip round and unmarked.
Aluminium MIG liner FAQ
Can I use a Teflon liner with steel wire?
You can, but it’s not worth it — Teflon liners are built for soft wires like aluminium, and steel wire’s rougher, harder-tensile feed wears a Teflon liner out faster than it would a bronze or steel one.
Why is my aluminium wire jamming even with a Teflon liner?
Check drive roll tension first — too much pressure flattens soft aluminium wire and it jams regardless of liner type. Also confirm the liner is trimmed to length and not kinked inside the neck.
