This swan neck replaces the curved neck section of your MIG torch, between the handle and the contact tip. Choose your torch family — MB15, MB25, MB36, MB40 or MB501 — since the fit, thread and consumable range differ across each.

What does a swan neck do?

The swan neck carries the contact tip, gas diffuser and shielding gas from the torch handle to the arc. Its curve gives a clear line of sight to the weld puddle, so you can work at an angle without bending your wrist. Spatter, arc strikes and knocks against the workpiece wear it out over time.

How do I know which torch family I need?

Check the model markings on your existing torch, or match the swan neck to your contact tips and gas nozzles. MB15 and MB25 use M6 thread. MB36 can run either M6 or M8, depending on how it's configured. MB40 and MB501 use M8. Ordering the wrong family means the neck won't thread onto your torch handle.

What's included

Each swan neck ships ready to fit its stated torch family. The included adaptor or spring can differ slightly by model, so confirm your existing torch assembly before ordering if you're replacing a damaged neck rather than building a new one.

MIG torch swan neck FAQ

Can I fit an MB25 swan neck to an MB15 torch?

No. Even though both use M6 thread, the swan neck is sized and shaped for its specific torch family. Match the family exactly, not just the thread.

Why does my swan neck keep bending or breaking?

A bent neck is usually physical damage — knocking the torch against the workpiece, a fixture, or a drop. Repeated flexing at the same point weakens the metal over time. So handle the torch by the handle, not the neck, when moving it around a job.

Can I straighten a bent swan neck instead of replacing it?

Not reliably. Straightening usually leaves stress fractures in the tube, which can crack later under heat. Replacing a bent neck outright avoids that risk.

Does a worn swan neck affect weld quality?

Yes, indirectly. A neck that's out of alignment shifts your contact tip's position and torch angle, which can affect arc stability and gas coverage even with a good tip and nozzle fitted.
