MB15 Air-Cooled MIG Welding Torch – 4m

The MB15 (also known as BZ15) is Amalgum Welding Shop's compact, air-cooled MIG welding torch. It's light and comfortable to handle. Smaller MIG machines commonly pair with it for DIY and light-duty work. It has a 4m cable and uses the M6 consumable range.

What is the MB15 torch good for?

The MB numbering in this torch family roughly tracks current capacity. Higher numbers handle heavier-duty work. MB15-style torches typically handle around 180A on CO2 and 150A on mixed gas, at a 60% duty cycle. So they suit thinner materials and lighter jobs, not continuous heavy fabrication. Always check your specific welder and application against the torch's actual rating.

Will this torch fit my welding machine?

Several machine brands use the MB15 connector standard, but it isn't universal. So confirm your machine's torch connector and trigger wiring before ordering.

What's included

The torch ships ready to connect to a compatible MIG welder. It doesn't include contact tips, gas nozzles or a liner. Stock up separately using our MIG contact tips (M6 thread for this torch) and gas nozzles.

Is the MB15 the same as the MB25?

Both are M6-thread, air-cooled torches, so they share the same contact tips. Our MB25 is a specialised aluminium version with a Teflon liner and shorter cable. The MB15 is the general-purpose option.

Will MB40 or MB501 contact tips fit the MB15?

No. MB40 and MB501-style torches take M8 thread. The MB15 takes M6. So check our MIG contact tips listing for both threads before ordering.

Is the MB15 a good torch for a beginner?

Yes, for light work. It's light in the hand and pairs well with smaller DIY-scale MIG machines. For heavier, continuous fabrication work, though, a higher-rated torch like our MB40 is a better fit.

What wire size does the MB15 handle?

MB15-style torches typically run finer wire, around 0.6mm to 0.9mm. So match your contact tip to the exact wire diameter you're running, not just the torch model.
